Mr John Steadman

Dear Sir

You really must load the “Fame” for us quicker than you have been doing of late. It indeed puts us much about when we do not get our regular supplies. It occurs to me that you can arrange this without trouble to yourself, and that if any preference is given, we should have it. Please see as to this for the future.

Yours faithfully

Dear Sir

The Captain of the Fame informs me that you will load her with fair good ?? theirs worth ?? at 6/6 per ton, please do to as we are really put to great inconvenience by this delay.

When you know that our consumption of your small coal is one cargo a week, I do really think you ought in justice to our very old customer keep that quantity for us, and we will send up regularly for it. You should give us a preference, and you can easily manage that quantity weekly by keeping it for us. Pray do so and greatly oblige.

Yours faithfully

Alex Turnbull
